Valerie "Jeannie" Jean Berry, 69, of Huntington, passed away at 2:29 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at her home.
Valerie was born on Dec. 23, 1952, in Huntington, the daughter of Charles Tackett and LaDonna (Cross) Tackett. She attended Huntington High School and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Post 85 of Huntington. She enjoyed being outdoors in her yard or working in her flower beds. She liked to go fishing, roller skating and making ceramics. She loved dancing, managing the jukebox and hanging out with her friends at Post 85. Jeannie didn’t know a stranger and she always made you welcomed. She truly was passionate about her family and spending time with each of them.
Survivors include her mother, LaDonna J. Tackett of Andrews; two daughters, Peachi (John) Helblig of Huntington, Catina (Dave) Baker of Swanton; sister, Linda (Don) Newsome of Andrews; Grandchildren, Teri Poff, Jessica, Poff, Caleb Berry, Chase Helblig, Aaron Berry, Brandon Baker; Great Grandchildren, Mason, Wesley, Raelynn, Maislynn; and soulmate of 40 years William "Bill” Berry of Huntington. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Tackett.
Visitation will be from 4 - 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm Friday Oct. 7, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Chaplin Ed Hippensteel officiating.
