Richard Allan Endsley

 

Richard Allan Endsley, 75, of Huntington, passed away at 1:05 pm Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at V.A. Medical Center of Fort Wayne.                 

Richard was born on May 24, 1947, in Huntington, the son of Wayne Endsley and Wilda (Wesco) Endsley. He graduated from Huntington Township High School with the class of 1965. Richard then went on to become a United States Marine, where he proudly served for 3 years and received the National Defense Service Metal, Purple Heart, and many other awards. He married Nancy L. Chew on December 15, 1978, in Huntington. He retired from the City of Huntington, after 20 years of service as a firefighter. Richard was a member of the VFW post number 2689, American Legion Post number 7, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge number 837. Richard was an avid fisherman. He and his wife, Nancy, loved to go camping with their friends and traveling to Texas to see family. Richard was a family man, he loved spending time with them. He was known to talk to everyone about anything, he never met a stranger and loved to tell a good joke.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Survivors include his Wife, Nancy L. Endsley of Huntington; Daughter, Julie (Jim) Monce of Lagro; Son, Richard W. (Rosalie) Endsley of Huntington; Daughter In-Law, Debra Shera of Fort Worth; Six Grandchildren, Brooke, Jamie, Travis, Dustin, Callie, and Remington; Ten Great Grandchildren; Two Sisters, Marsha (Phil) Gordan of Syracuse, Becky (Rick) Landrum of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father, Wayne R. Endsley, Mother, Wilda Erline Endsley, and Son, Mike Shera.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Chaplin Ed Hippensteel officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
