N. David Kelsay, 75, a lifetime resident of Montpelier, Harrison Township passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Home in Montpelier. He was born on Thursday, April 17,1947, in Bluffton. David was a 1965 graduate of Montpelier High School. He was a college graduate of Purdue University, where he earned a degree in Agricultural Economics.
David lived and farmed northeast of Montpelier on the Blackford-Wells County line his entire life. At age 12 he purchased his first tractor. David had a great love for livestock production. He had a positive influence on young people, always encouraging a need for continued education. In Davids words, students need to "get off the farm and get the dust blown off, and higher education will do that." David was a member of the Baptist Church in Montpelier.
David will be sadly missed by his sisters, Mary Margaret Kelsay, Montpelier, Ellen (Allen) Louise Lamaux, Charlotte; four nieces; one nephew; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nixon Winslow Kelsay; mother, Margaret L Kelsay; and sister, Cynthia Sue Lampman.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St., Montpelier, on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, from 4 - 8 p.m.
