Judith A. “Judy” Stephens

Judith A. “Judy” Stephens, 80, a resident of Nottingham Twp., Wells County, passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at her residence. She was born on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1942, in Muncie. She married Lindle L. Stephens on Sunday, Dec. 10, 1961, in Olive Branch Church of the Nazarene, rural Blackford County. Judy was a 1961 graduate of Montpelier High School. She had worked for Sinclair, Dacra and Corning Glass Companies, and also Torchlight Restaurant in Fiat.

She enjoyed putting up her own stand at local flea markets, playing the lottery and shopping. Judy especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Loving survivors include her husband Lindle L. Stephens, Montpelier; son, Lindle Jason (Kelly) Stephens, Nottingham; sister, Sarona Sluder, Hartford City; sister, Jane (Bob) Dawson, Temecula, California; brother, Howard (Nona) Fisher, Trenton; brother, Jack (Sue) Fisher, Trenton; sister, Diane Fuller, Hartford City; brother, Randy Fisher, Hartford City; grandchildren, Connor Stephens & Logan Stephens.

She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Fisher; mother, Katherine (Taylor) Fisher and brothers, Phillip (Rose) Fisher & Raymond Fisher.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, from 2 - 8 p.m. and from 10 - 11 a.m., one hour before the service on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022.

A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, with Pastor Steve Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Stahl Cemetery in Bluffton.
