Ruth Adaline (Craig) Guhl

Ruth Adaline (Craig) Guhl, 90 passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022 at her residence in Fort Wayne. Ruth was a devout Christian; she was actively involved in St. Peter Lutheran Church, and took on many activities to support the church and school. She learned how to paint at the Remington, Indiana Fountain Park Chautauqua that was a lifetime love of hers. Ruth painted all through her life and made it an annual tradition to provide a hand painted gift too many of her family and friends. She cherished and loved her family and friends and always made it a special occasion when everyone could get together. Ruth loved putting together a party and making those in her life feel special. She was well known within her retirement community as the “cookie lady.”

Ruth was born on Aug. 19, 1932 in Marion, the daughter of Ted and Thelma (McKinney) Craig.

Survivors include three daughter: Linda (Brent) Sievers, Amy (Eldon) Rasmussen, Deana Dennis; a son, Tom (Deb) Guhl; five grandchildren, Toni (Anthony) Rowley, Teri Guhl, Kelli (James) Phillips, Andrew (Dubbie) Nelson, Isaac (Darrian) Nelson and seven great-grandchildren, Reed Rowley, Grant Rowley, Clara Rowley, Adori Phillips, Cassius Nelson, Roman Nelson and Reese Nelson.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Zachary Guhl; two brothers,Robert Craig and Richard “Dickie” Craig; two sisters, Barbara Miller and Judy Costello.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022 from 9 – 10 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, following visitation, at 10 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, with grave site burial following the service.

Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.
