Elinore Elizabeth Pribble

Elinore Elizabeth Pribble, 97, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, in Fort Wayne.

Elinore was born on Feb. 22, 1925, to the late Christian Waag and Renata (Gaiser) Waag in Cleveland. As a child, she spent many summers with her grandparents at their parsonage near Preble, Indiana. She graduated from high school at Fairview Park, Ohio. She then spent a few years at home while her younger brother, Christian, completed college. It was during this time that she honed her sewing talents.

Elinore continued her education at Indiana University to receive her bachelor’s degree from the school of Nursing in 1956. She married Robert Howard Pribble on May 27, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, after a whirlwind five-year courtship. Elinore worked as the head nurse at Riley Children’s Hospital in both isolation and the outpatient clinic. She then stayed at home while she raised her family. Elinore enjoyed crafts, especially watercolor painting and working with clay. She also loved dogs, enjoyed baking, master gardening, and would volunteer whenever and wherever she felt needed.

Elinore was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Renata Waag, and brother, Christian Waag Jr.

Loving survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Pribble of Warren; daughter, Becky Lamboley of Fort Wayne; and son, Robert Pribble of San Diego; grandchildren, Megan Mance of Indianapolis, Lauren Lamboley of Indianapolis, Clifford Pribble of Annapolis, and Florence Pribble of Annapolis.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember at Trinity English Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, from 10 - 11 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11a.m.
