Carole Rose Quickery, 88, of Huntington, passed away at 7:06 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at Coventry Meadows of Fort Wayne.
Carole was born on July 19, 1934, in Huntington, the daughter of Howard Davis and Edna (Spanley) Davis. She graduated from Huntington Catholic High School with the class of 1952. She married the love of her life John E. Quickery Sr. on Oct. 1, 1955, in SS. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church. They shared 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on April 30, 2013.
She retired from Huntington County School Corporation as a bus driver after 30 years of service. Carole was also a Religious Education Teacher for 15 years for St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke. Carole also assisted her husband John Quickery Sr. in his tax services. She was a member of the Winnebago Motor Home Club for 15 years where she held the title of the Secretary of the local club and President of the State club. She was also involved in the auxiliary of the American Legion Post #160 in Roanoke.
Carole loved to golf, water ski, go camping, and go swimming with her grandchildren. Carole and John loved to travel, they had visited all 50 states and traveled all over the world.
Survivors include her two sons, Kevin J (Rhonda) Quickery of Huntington, and John E (Toni) Quickery Jr. of Huntington; two daughters, Karen M (Richard) Pape of Huntington, and Jeanne Quickery of Ashley; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John E. Quickery, Sr.; father, Howard R. Davis; mother, Edna M. Davis; three brothers, Leo J Davis, Richard T Davis, and Robert J Davis.
Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Friday Nov. 4, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St. Roanoke. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Roanoke with Father Dale Bauman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Roanoke.
