Carole June Baker, 79, of Huntington, passed away at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at her son's residence in Ft. Wayne.
Carole was born on Nov. 6, 1942 in Huntington, the daughter of Harry Hartle and Roberta (Young) Hartle. She graduated from Huntington Township High School, earned her Bachelor's Degree from Manchester College (now named Manchester University, and she earned her Master's Degree from Purdue University. Carole married Alva F. Hohl, Jr. on Oct. 17, 2015 in North Manchester. Carole retired after 30 years of teaching. She taught Spanish and English at Riverview School and she taught Spanish for 20 years at Huntington North High School. She was a member of the National Education Association and Manchester Church of the Brethren. Carole enjoyed quilting, sewing, traveling, and reading.
Survivors include her Husband, Alva F. Hohl, Jr. of North Manchester; daughter, Julie Ann Baker (Les) Brin of Wichita, KS; son, Sean Matthew (Brandi Nicolette-Baker) Baker of Ft. Wayne; step-daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth (James) Carpenter of South Bend; step-son, Nathan Frederick (Cindy) Hohl of Kansas City; grandchildren, Alexis, Aiden, and Aria; step grandchildren, Amanda, Tim, Charlotte, and Nina; brother, Brian (Sandra) Hartle of Huntington; and Friskey, her beloved Yorkie. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Dale Baker, father, Harry Hartle, mother, Roberta Hartle, and brother, Robert Hartle.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
