Donna Lou Bolinger

Donna Lou Bolinger, 92 of Warren, reached her heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at her home in Warren.

Donna was born on May 18, 1930, to Vier Clenwood Ditzler Sr. and Mayme E. (Haines) Ditzler in Warren. She graduated as Salutatorian from Warren High School in 1948 and married John Paul Bolinger at the Methodist Church in Warren, on Oct. 5, 1954. John preceded Donna in death on Nov. 25, 2002.

Donna was first and foremost a wonderful mom and grandma. A lifelong member of the Warren community, Donna was well known and well liked by all. She worked as a Radio Telegraph Operator for Capital Airlines, as a route supervisor for over 25 years for the Journal Gazette, News Sentinel, and Indy Star in the Warren community. She also worked as a learning disability aid at Salamonie Schools. Donna was a member of Solid Rock United Methodist Church in Warren. She taught Sunday school, was a Boy and Girl Scout leader, and was a member of the Chautauqua Club in Warren.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Vier Clenwood and Mayme E. Ditzler Sr., husband, John Paul Bolinger, son, John Webster Bolinger, brothers, Vier Clenwood Ditzler Jr., Gale Fenwick Ditzler, and sisters, June Elizabeth Glover, Virginia May Neel, Jean F. Ditzler, and Barbara Jean Breedlove.

Loving survivors include her children, Robert (Gigi) Bolinger of Upland, Elaine (Rick) Furnish of Warren, Jan (Mark) Weight of Warren, Michael (Rita) Bolinger of Warren, Matthew (Sara) Bolinger of West Lafayette, and Stacia (Dan) Perry of Montpelier; grandchildren, Nate (Katie) Brown, Brittany (Nick) Kelley, Rebecca (Patrick) Madsen, Amber (Brad) Locke, Shanna (Dustin) Fortney, Brent (Megan) Furnish, Stephanie (Joe) Hadfield, Ryan (Christina) Weight, Erin (Alex) Scobell, Kaley (Aaron) Funke, Ben (Lizzie) Weight, Alissa (Jordan) Erekson, Andy (Jerrica) Bolinger, Brandon (Miranda) Bolinger, Brady (Chelsea) Bolinger, Olivia Bolinger, Carson (Emily) Bolinger, Cameron Bolinger, Connor Bolinger, Morgan Perry, T.C. (Markie) Perry, and Jed Perry; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember at Solid Rock UMC, 485 Bennett Dr, Warren, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, from 3 - 8 p.m. and again on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, from 10 - 11 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday with Chaplain Gerald Moreland and Pastor Kathy Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at Thompson Home Cemetery in rural Warren, Indiana.
