Max J. Miller

Max J. Miller, 79, of rural Dunkirk, Jay Co. passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022 at his home in Dunkirk. He was born on Saturday, Sept. 11, 1943, in Fairmount. He married Linda E. (Dishman) Miller on Friday, Feb. 27, 1970; she precedes him in death on Dec. 18, 2016. Max attended the Pennville High School. He lived most of his life in Jay Co. He retired from Sterling Casting in Bluffton after many years of service. Max was a lifetime member of the Tri State Gas Engine & Tractor Association and enjoyed rebuilding gas engines.

Max will be sadly missed by his sons, Mark A. (Andria) Miller, Jay Co; John L. (Debra) Miller, Blackford Co; grandchildren, Jesse Miller, Dunkirk, Tabatha Miller, Hartford City, Kaleb Miller, Hartford City, Austin Miller, Cincinnati; step grand-daughter, Chandall (Ben) Howard, Dunkirk; great-grandchild, Gavin Miller, Cincinnati; and step granddaughter, Amber Nichole Langford.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda E. (Dishman) Miller; father, Otis Bur Miller; mother, Susie (Shockey) Miller; son, Vaughn R. Miller; brothers, Robert Miller, Fred Miller, Earl Miller; and sister, Marilyn Zebelle.

Family and friends may gathered to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022.

A service to celebrate Max’s life was at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022 with Pastor Steve Rogers officiating. Interment followed in the Asbury Cemetery, Wells Co.

Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
