Patsy Eileen Bickel

Patsy Eileen Bickel, 79, of Huntington, passed away at 10:05 pm Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022 at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Patsy was born on Oct. 25, 1943 in Anderson, the daughter of Rufus Nunemaker and June (Shoemaker) Smith. She graduated from Huntington Township High School with the Class of 1961 and married Richard E. Bickel on February 16, 1963 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1976. Patsy worked as the Office Manager at Right to life for 38 years and retired as the Secretary of St. Mary Catholic Church Parrish after 42 years of service. She was a member of St Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary Solidarity. She liked watching TV and jig saw puzzles. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed bowling and golfing. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her Son, David Lee Bickel of Orlando; two Daughters, Dawn Marie Flentje of Andrews, Delane Renee (John) Kuhn of Huntington; two Sisters, Dixie Harrold of Huntington, Judy (Tom) Scheiber of Huntington; brother, Ray Nunemaker of Huntington; five grandchildren, Joni Sprinkle, Alex Cox, Sam Cox, Dana Spahr, Sara Buchanan; step-granddaughter, Taylor (Austin) Wake of Muncie; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Bickel; father, Rufus R. Nunemaker; mother, June Smith; half sister, Alberta Troup, and granddaughter, Rae Lynn Cox.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Fr. Steve Colchin and Fr. Thomas Zehr officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
