Irene Lavon Westfall

Irene Lavon Westfall, 75, of Lansing, formerly of Huntington, passed away at 1:30 am Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 at her son's residence in Lansing. 
Irene was born on Oct. 6, 1947 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of William (Jack) Tharp and Gladys (Gemmer) Tharp. She graduated from Union Township High School with the Class of 1965 and received her Associates Degree from IPFW. She married Roger Westfall, who preceded her in death. Irene worked as a Secretary at Triple Crown in Fort Wayne and Wayne Metals in Markle. She loved embroidery and crocheting. Irene also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. Dancing was one of her favorite activities, and she was an avid reader. She loved Jesus and enjoyed Bible Study. She was very involved as a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Huntington. 
Survivors include her three sons, Gered Trimble of Santa Barbara, Gentry Tharp-Trimble of Fort Wayne, Geoffre (Hannah) Trimble of Lansing; grandchildren, Cash, Cooper, Nathanael, Emila, and Joseph; brother, Walter (Jan) Tharp of Huntington. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Westfall, Father, William (Jack) J. Tharp, and mother, Gladys Marie Tharp. 
Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Ronald Looney officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Star of Hope Cemetery.
