Sister Elizabeth Anderson, OLVM, 88, a resident of Saint Anne’s Community, Victory Noll, Huntington, died peacefully in the early morning of Monday, Nov. 21, 2022.
Sister Elizabeth (Betty), was born in New York City, New York on March 29, 1934, to Archibald Anderson and Elizabeth (Rouhan) Anderson. One brother, Dennis Anderson, and one sister, Jane Coleman, precede her in death. Surviving sister are her nieces and nephews, along with her Victory Noll Sisters with whom she shared life and community for 68 years.
Sister Elizabeth entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Sept. 6, 1954, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1957. She served in the states of Florida, California, Texas and Massachusetts. She was in religious education before moving into social work, and finally working as a chaplain for a local hospice group. Sister Elizabeth returned to Victory Noll in 2008 to the ministry of Leadership, during her leadership term she served as General Secretary. After her term in leadership, she continued to live at Victory Noll volunteering and serving the congregation.
The Vigil Service for Sister Elizabeth will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022. The funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., in Bishop Noll Memorial Chapel. For livestream, please email victorynoll@olvm.org to request the livestream link for the funeral liturgy only.
Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery, Huntington.
