Harold E. Finton

Harold E. Finton, 82, of Huntington, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne.

Harold was born on Jan. 27, 1940, in Kosciusko County, to Augusta and Vera Finton. His parents preceded him in death. He married Sandra Lou Thorn, wife of 50 years, on Oct. 17, 1965. She preceded him in death Oct. 14, 2016.

Harold graduated from Lancaster High School in 1958. He retired from Essex Wire after 30 years and worked at Lime City as well. He was also the Janitor at First Baptist Church for over 12 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a life member of the NRA. Harold loved to sing and play guitar, and most importantly, he loved spending time with family.  He also loved cars and attending car shows.

Harold is survived by two sons, Jonathan Finton, Robert (Dawn) Finton, both of Huntington; two daughters, Korinna (Earl) Carpenter, Andrews; Naomi (Matt) Ritter, Palm Bay; three brothers, William (Betty) Finton, Huntington; James (Ruth) Finton, Fort Wayne; and Richard Finton, Markle; one sister-in-law, Janet Finton, Huntington; six grandchildren; and eighth great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Dave Finton; two sisters, Doris Blessing and Marge Shenefield.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, from 3 - 7 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at 10 a.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Rev. Dianna Teusch officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750.
