Janet E. Berg

Janet Elaine Berg, 82, of Huntington, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022 at her residence.
Janet was born on April 23, 1940 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Lloyd Gillett and Beulah (Tharp) Gillett. She grew up in San Diego, California and Douglas, Arizona. Janet graduated from Douglas High School with the Class of 1958. She attended Arizona State University and received her Associates Degree from Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan. She married John H. Berg on June 28, 1959 in Douglas, Arizona and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2019. She retired as an Accounting Supervisor from the State of Michigan DCS after 26 years of service. She also worked at H&R Block for many years. She was a member of College Park United Brethren Church, and she attended Life Church in Huntington. Janet loved to knit, crochet, and sew. She enjoyed square dancing and line dancing, and she and her husband traveled to all 50 states, the Holy Land, and many foreign countries. She loved all puzzles, including jig saw, crossword, and word search puzzles. She was committed to Jesus and Mission Work and supported many Navajo children and children from India.
Survivors include her two daughters, Karen (Tom) Bennett of Huntington, Diane Endres of Huntington; son, Brian (Vera) Berg of Newport, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Carrie Fiedler, Kelly Fletcher, D.L. Sivley, Cameron Sivley, Jana Ricker, Katherine "Kay" Martinez-Bennett, Joni Adams, Daniel Turner, and Martika Berg; and twelve great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Berg, mother, Beulah Mae Gillett, father, Lloyd A. Gillett, six brothers, and five sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held in April of 2023.
