Mona Belle Tullis

 

Mona Belle Tullis passed away peacefully and joined her husband Bill in Heaven on Dec. 4, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital at the age of 99.  She was born Aug. 18, 1923 to Obadiah and Georgia (Smith) Dillman in Tipton.

Mona graduated from Kokomo High School and attended Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Missouri. This is where she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Allen Tullis.  They married on Aug. 22, 1948.  He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2014.  Mona worked at RCA in Marion, the Water Co. of Montpelier, and the Montpelier Bureau of Motor Vehicles. After retiring she enjoyed serving meals at the Community Center in Montpelier.  She was a member of the Christian Church, Bluffton, and attended the Lighthouse Church, Hartford City. Mona enjoyed crocheting, reading, watching game shows, and loved spending time wither family.

Mona’s loving survivors include her daughters: Cynthia (Cindy) Wingrove (Steve) Elwood, Patricia (Patty) Mitchell (Phil) Hartford City.  Granddaughters; Jennifer Allen (Mike), Amanda Wingrove, Amy Withers (Johnny). Grandson; Scott Mitchell. Great-grandchildren; Christopher Wingrove, Sarah Barker (Ryan), Tricia Withers, William Withers, Noah Withers, Nicholas Withers, Addison Withers, Zachary Johnston. Great-great grandchildren; Saria Nicole Johnston, Eleanor Jean Barker, and one on the way. Two sisters; Monelle Bevington and Aldena Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her Husband - William A. "Bill" Tullis, father - Obadiah Dillman, mother - Georgia (Smith) Dillman, granddaughter - Nicole Johnston, father & mother in law - James & Mary Tullis, brothers - Vernal Chandler, Virgil Chandler, brother-in-laws - Dale Bevington, Lyndall Jordan, Charles Tullis, Jim Tullis, Norman Thompson, sister-in-laws - Mary Chandler, Edna Chandler, Shirley Tullis, Pauline Tullis, and Leota Thompson.

The funeral service celebrating Mona’s life will be on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022 at Walker and Glancy Funeral Home, Montpelier with Pastor Les Bantz officiating the service. Viewing and visitation for family and friends will be noon to 1 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Brookside Cemetery, Montpelier.
