Kay Francis Campbell

Kay Francis Campbell, 80, of Huntington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 8:51 am Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at The Waters of Huntington.
Kay was born on April 5, 1942, in Huntington, the daughter of Paul Bir and Bernadette (Klty) Bir-Schomburg. She graduated from Huntington Catholic High School with the class of 1962. Kay married the love of her life Jerry W. Campbell on June 29, 1963, in Huntington. They shared 38 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 2001. She was proud to be a homemaker and blessed to stay at home raising their eight children. Kay joined the staff at Huntington Catholic School as an aid and retired after 23 years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of the St. Mary Catholic Church of Huntington.
Kay liked to stay busy volunteering her time, decorating the church, going for walks, mentoring others, or going downtown to Nick’s Kitchen for a slice of pie. She loved her large family and looked forward to spending time with them.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Dustin) Thomas of Huntington, Janna Long of Auburn; five sons, Jerry (Michelle) Campbell Jr. of Paris, Ontario, Chris (Julie) Campbell of Huntington, Chad Campbell of Indianapolis, J.J. Campbell of Huntington, Cory (Mary Jane) Campbell of Huntington; five sisters, Sandy (Wes) Smith of Huntington, Karen Whitesell of Huntington, Cathy Pollock of New Haven, Paulette Stuart of Huntington, Carol Hilligoss of South Carolina; three brothers, Jim (Karen) Bir of Huntington, Tim Bir of Huntington, Douglas (Janice) Bir of Huntington; and 17 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul F. Bir, mother, Bernadette Bir-Schomburg, husband, Jerry W. Campbell, Sr., brother, Pat Bir, sister, Sally Okuly, infant-daughter, Victoria Campbell.
Visitation will be from 9 -11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Thomas Zehr officiating.
