Carol S. Dinius

Carol S. Dinius, 83, of Huntington, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022 at the Waters of Huntington. She had worked at Memcor in Huntington for many years and most recently at Square D for over 20 years, retiring in 2001. Carol was a 1957 graduate of Huntington High School and a 1959 graduate of the Fort Wayne Beauty College. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church and had previously attended Grayston Avenue and the Good Shepherd United Brethren churches. Carol loved to follow her grandkids and family in all of their activities. She enjoyed crocheting and made lap pads and blankets for many people and groups. Carol was a Pathfinder Big Sister to Cindy Smith for over 40 years, and was a follower of the Pathfinders Bowling Club for many years and served as their scorekeeper. She was known by all as Grandma Carol!

Carol was born on Dec. 8, 1939 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Gerald and Naomi (Rittenhouse) Smith.

She was united in marriage to Earl F. Dinius on April 18, 1981, at the Good Shepherd Church in Huntington. He preceded her in death in 1991.

Survivors include a son: Jeff (Jody) Falk of Huntington; two daughters: Belinda (Larry) Thacker and Brenda (Bret) Parker both of Huntington; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; four sisters: Karen Payne of Huntington, Sonja (Carl) Tabbert of Toledo, OH, Cheryl Miller of Fort Wayne and Candy (John) Wajer of Huntington; and a sister-in-law: Alice Smith of Toledo, OH.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronnie Smith and Randy Smith.

Visitation was held Dec. 19, 2022 at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.

Interment will be at the Old Lutheran & Union Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
