Betty Lou Stevens, 81, of Montpelier, passed away at 5:52 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. She was born on Monday, April 7, 1941, in Bald Knob, Kentucky. She married Leonard "Don” Stevens on Sunday, Oct. 17, 1976 in Muncie. Betty attended the Otter Creek High School in Strunk, Kentucky. She was a member of the Westside Southern Baptist Church in Muncie. Betty moved to Muncie in 1960 from Strunk, Kentucky, and then to Montpelier in 1977. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and enjoyed working in her yard.
Betty will be sadly missed by her husband - Leonard "Don" Stevens, Montpelier, sons - Barry F. Dolen, Hartford City, Rodney D. Dolen, Dunkirk, Brother - Leon Waters, Muncie, sister - Elsie Jones, Onida, Tennessee, brother - Millard Waters, Jr., Strunk, Kentucky, sister - Stella Ball, Mason, Ohio, sister - Edna Waters, Strunk, Kentucky, brother - Guy Waters, Strunk, Kentucky, sister - Joyce Waters, Strunk, Kentucky, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father - Millard Waters, mother - Mae (Spradlin) Waters, and daughter - Tammy A. Benedict.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St, Montpelier on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022 from 4 to 8 p.m..
A service to celebrate her life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 1p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022 with Steve Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier. Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
