Ronald D. Smithley

Ronald D. “Ron” Smithley, 49, of Huntington, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at 7:41 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital from an acute asthma attack.

Ronald was born on Nov. 16, 1973, in Huntington, the son of Joy Smithley. He married Alissa Sunday on January 29th of 2009 in Huntington. He was the Co-Owner of Dyno Seal Coating for 18+ years. He was a member of the Christian Life Tabernacle Church. Ron was a family man, he loved spending time with his family and being able to make others smile.

Survivors include his wife, Alissa Smithley of Huntington; six Children, Mikayla M. Arnold, Teonna M. Miller, Avery J. Blount, Cayden M. Smithley, Rylee Smithley, and Alexis Smithley; two grandsons, Brayden Johnson and Maddex Miller; brother, Gary (Sarha) Smithley of Huntington; nephew, Bailey Smithley; three uncles, V. Rex (Cheryl) Smithley of Fort Wayne, Bob (Patty) Smithley of Markle, and Timothy R. (Lynn) Smithley. aunt, Greta (Smithley) Lesh of Huntington, and various cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joy Y. Smithley, grandmother, Laura Smithley, grandfather, Billy L. Smithley Sr., uncle, Billy L. Smithley Jr., uncle, Jerry L. Smithley, and uncle, William “Bill” Lesh.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Richard Fishburn officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
