Margaret “Margie” Mary Bledsoe

Margaret “Margie” Mary Bledsoe, age 73, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at the Heritage of Huntington.

Margie was born on Feb. 9, 1949, in Terre Haute, to the late John and Geraldine (Sheetz) Ofsansky.

Margie was a 1967 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, Terre Haute, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Indiana State and her Master’s degree from Indiana University. She was a school teacher for HCCSC Corporation for many years and taught at Roanoke Elementary, Andrews Elementary, and Huntington North High School. Margie attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke; and was a member of Tri Kappa and LaFontaine Arts Council.

In addition to her love of teaching and coaching kids in physical education, Margie was a competitive soul who loved playing cards. She was an avid collector of antiques and pretty things. She loved travel, exploration and adventures with her many friends who often came back with stories for a lifetime. They laughed and they laughed hard —fun was the name of the game. She lived for the people she loved whether family or friend. She had an innate way of making each person she met feel loved. And she never met an ugly horse.

Margie is survived by two daughters, Erin (Michael) Quinlan, Wake Forest, North Carolina; Meredith Bledsoe, Cedar Park, Texas; one sister, Shirley (Neil) Mowell, Houston, Texas; one grandchild, Riley Quinlan; and one niece, Gina (Jeffrey) Nyland, Texas.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Ofsansky.
