Michael L. Kellogg

Michael Lee Kellogg, 73, of rural Hartford City, passed away at 1:09 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana with his wife and daughters by his side. He was born on Wednesday, June 29, 1949, in Hartford City. He married Patricia "Pat" (Sutton) Kellogg on Saturday, July 1, 1967 in Roll, Indiana. Mike was only a phone call away for anyone who needed his help. He was a do-it-all kind of man with a “where there is a will, there’s a way” perspective. He retired from Hartford Concrete in October 2008 where he was a licensed diesel mechanic. He enjoyed spending his retired years keeping busy with all sorts of jobs that usually kept him outdoors. Kayaking was a favorite pastime he enjoyed doing with his stepfather. He and his wife enjoyed riding a motorcycle traveling cross-country for vacations or just for a nice drive. A more recent hobby was driving his Model A truck in parades and going to car shows.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years - Patricia "Pat" (Sutton) Kellogg of Hartford City, daughters & son in laws - Kim (Jeff) Hastings of Carmel, Vicky (Todd) Weaver of Hartford City, grandchildren - Ashlyn (Nate) Sloan, Luke  & Maclain Hastings,  Spencer (Tammi) Taylor , Katie (Dylan) Elkins, and Kylie Keifer, step grandchildren - Kira Weaver, Sarek Weaver, Riker Weaver, one great grandchild, & two step great grandchildren, step father- Richard Kinser, brothers &  sisters – Sandra (Kellogg) Bell, Chris (Jeff) Ellingwood, David (Karen) Kinser, Amie (Matt) Atkinson, Jane (Jeff) Malkoff, as well as several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father - Robert Lee Kellogg, mother - Delilah "Joanne" Baker (Kellogg) Kinser, brother- Danny Kinser and In-Laws, John and Betty Sutton.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St. Montpelier, on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 from 4  to 7 p.m.

A service to celebrate Michael’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 with Pastor John Kellogg officiating.

Preferred memorials: Blackford County Animal Shelter
