Larry R. Kershner, 82, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 11:43 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton, IN.
He was born on Thursday, July 25, 1940, in Hartford City, IN. He married K. Kay (Ickes) Kershner on Sunday, July 25, 1965, at the Montpelier First United Methodist Church. Larry was a 1958 graduate of Chester Center High School. He spent his early years in Chester Twp. Wells Co. He attended Ivy Tech to become a licensed electrician and electronics technician. He started at Franklin Electric, Bluffton, IN. in October1958 and has served them as maintenance electrician for 64 years. He was a member of the IUE Local 848802, and the Montpelier Masonic Lodge # 600 F&AM. Larry enjoyed aeronautics, flying, electronics and IU basketball.
He will be sadly missed by his Wife - K. Kay (Ickes) Kershner, Montpelier, IN, Daughter - Gina Kershner (Chris) Fieber, Huntersville, NC, Son - Troy S. Kershner, Montpelier, IN, Grandchildren - Anthony Mortimer, Hartford City, IN, Travis Cunningham, Gas City, IN, Garrett Cunningham, Gas City, IN, Marissa Kershner, Bluffton, IN, Ashley Fieber, Huntersville, NC, Malaina Culbertson, Van Buren, IN, 5 Great Grandchildren, Brother - Lee E. (Bobbie) Kershner, Bluffton, IN, Sister - Sharen (Steve) Smoot, Sevierville, TN, Sister - Karen (Neil) Mowery, Bluffton, IN, and 16 Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father - Glen Edwin Kershner, Mother - Dorothy Marie (Albertson) Kershner, and Beloved Puppy- Momo.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Montpelier Masonic Lodge #600 F&AM at 7:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2023 with Pastor Bob Bothast officiating.
