Allen R. Grossman, 64, of Huntington, passed away at 11:40 pm Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.
Allen was born on August 26, 1958, in Wabash, IN, the son of Glenn Grossman and Luella (Gemmer) Grossman. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1976. Allen met the love of his life Linda Bonbrake cruising around with friends in Huntington, they joined in marriage on August 29, 1987, in Huntington IN. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Huntington. Allen was a lifetime Huntington County farmer and from 1998 to current the Sexton of Andrews Riverside Cemetery along with his wife Linda. He was very passionate about his position as the Sexton and making sure each family he served was taken care of with love and dignity.
Allen loved to be out on his boat fishing or enjoying the outdoors taking walks with his wife. He collected toy tractors and spent many hours rebuilding some. Allen liked watching football and from a young age he cheered on Kansas City Chief’s. He always looked forward to Euchre night with their friends Terry and Barb Myers. Allen’s generous heart and compassion for others was never ending and a true reflection of his selfless spirit.
Allen is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Grossman of Huntington, IN; daughter, Melissa L. Grossman of Huntington, IN; sister, Sue A. (Stephen) Trexler of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother-in-law, Larry (Terri) Bonbrake Jr. of Huntington, IN; three sister in-laws, Jenny (Jim) Nelson of Van Wert, OH, Cindy (Dan) Smith of Andrews, IN, Michelle Bonbrake of Huntington, IN; father in-law, Larry Bonbrake, Sr. of Huntington, IN; many nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog Ginger. He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Richard Grossman, mother, Luella P. Grossman, daughter, Aimee Grossman, mother in-law, Roseanne M Bonbrake.
Celebration of Life will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday, February 27, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN.
