Scott D. Cole

Scott D. Cole, 51, of Huntington, passed away at 5:22 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at residence. 

Scott was born on March 16, 1971, in Marion, IN, the son of Lloyd Cole and Rita (Draper) Steele. He graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1989 and earned an associate degree in diesel technology from the University of Northwestern Ohio. He was a self-employed diesel mechanic his whole adult life. Scott was a member of the American Legion Post 85 and Life Church both of Huntington, IN. 

Scott enjoyed going camping and taking weekend trips to new places with Renee. He was a faithful Chicago Bears Fan, avid sport spectator and an amazing coach to his kids when they were young. Scott was a hard worker and blessed to have the dream job of doing what he loved, which was working on cars. He liked to hang out with his sister and friends down at Brockhaus Bar & Grill. Scott had the ability to make others feel important and he would stop whatever he was doing to help someone else out. His favorite title was Papa Scott, and his four grandkids meant the world to him. Scott was a devoted family man and was passionate about spending time with those he loved. His solid foundation and compassion for others will live on through the hearts he touched. 

Scott is survived by his mother, Rita (Larry) Steele of Jonesboro, IN; loving companion of 20 years, Renee Harris of Huntington, IN; three daughters, Kirsten (Chad Myers) Cole of Huntington, IN, Kennedy Harris of Huntington, IN, Bailey Harris of Huntington, IN; two sons, Ryan (Wayne Glass) Cole of New York, NY, Maxwell (Cadence Crouse) Harris of Warren, IN; three sisters, Rachael (Rod) Brockhaus of Huntington, IN, Kristie Johnson of Huntington, IN, Penny Lambert of OH; brother, Harold Steele of Huntington, IN; grandmother, Irma Jean Draper of Marion, IN; four grandchildren, Jordan, Skyler, Lillian, Penelope; and a unborn granddaughter Roslyn. He is preceded in death by father, Lloyd Lee Cole, Jr., grandfather, William Draper, cousin, Adam Keith, uncle, David Draper. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, February 17, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, February 17, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Mike Hill officiating.
