Thomas "Tom" B. Burnau, 86, of Huntington, passed away peacefully at 5:05 pm Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington while in the care of Stillwater Hospice.
Thomas "Tom" was born on May 3, 1936, in Bluffton, IN, the son of Lloyd Burnau and Jane (Schooley) Burnau. He attended school in Wells County, IN. Tom spent 25 years in maintenance and 34 years as a distribution foreman before retiring in 2012 from Sealtest of Huntington, IN. after 59 years of loyal service. He was also a proud full-time farmer in Clear Creek Township.
Tom loved driving his semi-truck and watching his grandchildren play sports. He always looked forward to mowing the yard and being outside sitting on his swing in sunshine. Tom was mostly quiet and enjoyed the simple things in life but was very passionate about putting in the time and working hard.
Tom is survived by his two sons, Kris (Betty) Burnau of Andrews, IN, Kurt (JoAnn) Burnau of Huntington, IN; four daughters, Kimerly (Ozark) Slone of Melvin, KY, Karla (Jim) Everett of FL, Karri (Mike) Davis of Huntington, IN, Chelsea (Dru) Hensel of Warren, IN; sister, Kathryn Bucher of Huntington, IN; brother, Jody Burnau of Markle, IN; seventeen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Burnau, mother, Jane Burnau, three sisters, Sally Krick, Mary Jane Ripley, Martha Abner, and two brothers, James Burnau, and Jed Burnau.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm Friday, April 28, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm Friday, April 28, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Dianna Teusch officiating. Burial will be in Markle Cemetery in Markle IN at a later date.
