Geraldine “Gerry” E. Lickey, 94, of Huntington, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023.
Geraldine was born on December 12, 1928, in Huntington, IN, to John J. and Elizabeth (Eckert) Meyer. Her parents preceded her in death. She married Paul F. Lickey on June 28, 1952, and he preceded her in death on January 22, 2003.
Gerry was a 1946 Clear Creek High School graduate. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Columbia City. At the church, she was an active Rosary Sodality member.
Gerry is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Mary McArdle) Lickey, Fort Wayne, IN, Larry (Julie) Lickey, Huntington, IN, Thomas (Tamara) Lickey, Columbia City, IN; one daughter, Beth Lahr, Roanoke, IN; one sister, Phyllis (Frederick) McNulty, Fort Wayne, IN; 6 grandchildren, Katherine Lickey, Hannah Lickey, Megan Lickey, Amy (Eric) Shalley, Kelly (Tim) Nei, and Kyle (Kami) Lahr and 5 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Eldon Meyer and one son-in-law, Eldon Lahr.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. prior to the calling at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with calling hours being held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 9989 S. St. Road 9, Columbia City, IN 46725, with Fr. Dale Bauman presiding.
Burial will be at St. Catherine’s Cemetery Nix Settlement, Columbia City, IN.
