
Anthony “Tony” Lee Vonesh, Sr., age 71, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, at his home.
Tony was born on October 8, 1951, in Beloit, IL, to the late Robert Pollock and Edna Vonesh. He is survived by his stepmother, Shirley Pollock.
Tony was a 1969 graduate of Milton Union High School in Milton, Wisconsin. He worked at General Motors for over 30 years and retired as a supervisor. If you were ever looking for Tony, you could find him in the woods hunting a deer, in the garage or shop under a car, down in the bar tending his machinery, or breaking a horse, or lending his vast lifetime of knowledge to help others. Tony treated everyone he met as family, which was his greatest joy in life. That will be the legacy he leaves behind. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Milton, Wisconsin, Moose Lodge #837 and UAW #2209.
Tony is survived by two sons, Tony (Heather) Vonesh II, James (Dana) Vonesh; three daughters, Tina (Chris Sheets) Frazier, Racheal Lund, Lisa (Moxy) McIntyre; 7 brothers, Ted (Mary) Rose, Gilbert Pollock, Karl (Amy) Allen, Ed (Jane) Allen, Alvin Allen, Bob Allen, Frank (Theresa) Vonesh; five sisters, Lorraine Secor, Diana (Jim Ryan) Schultz, Elaine Hagan, Regina (Brian) Edwardson Rose, Marilyn Driscoll; 13 grandchildren, Justin, Jake, Winnie, Savannah, D.J., Brandon, Rachel, Logan, Brooke, Marisa, Brody, Skylar, Rylan; five great grandchildren, Samara, Lillyann, Logan, Jr., Rebekah and Xena.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bruce Pollock, Barry Rose, Bert Pollock, Neil Pollock, Mark Allen; two sisters, Sandra Pollock, Josephine Taylor; and three grandchildren, Jacob, Slater and Tristan.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service at McElhaney Funeral Home-Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke, IN, 46783.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
