William “Bill” J. Giles, 82, of Huntington passed away on the morning of Saturday June 10, 2023 at Tipton Place in Huntington. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Huntington Township High school. After high school, he served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Bill became an electrician and worked for the Local 305 Union in Fort Wayne. He retired in 2001 after 35 years of service. Bill was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Bill was born on June 7, 1941 in Huntington the son of the late John and Marvel (Shearer) Giles.
Survivors include a daughter: Tiffany (Troy) Krumma of Huntington; three grandchildren: Corey (Samantha) Vebert of Fort Wayne, Mason Vebert of Fort Wayne, and Megan Vebert of Huntington; and three great grandchildren: Mila Tucker, Beckham Tucker, and Beau Vebert.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvel (Leonard) Houser; and his K-9 companion “Callaway”
A graveside service will take place at a later date at the Marion National Cemetery
