Wesley M. Burkhart, 19, of Muncie, tragically passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, from an auto accident in Farmland, IN.
Wesley was born on December 8, 2003, in Huntington, IN, the son of Wendell Vance and Jessica Burkhart. He graduated from Delta High School in Muncie, IN, with the class of 2021. He was a member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and St. Mary Catholic Church of Huntington. Wesley enjoyed gaming, listening to music, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family. He played football in high school and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan. Wesley had a great personality, loved making others laugh and his smile could light up a room. He loved with all of his heart and was zealous about showing it.
Survivors include his father, Wendell Vance of High Hat, KY; mother, Jessica Burkhart of Huntington, IN; two sisters, Morgan Burkhart of Bluffton, IN, Alisha Vance of KY; brother, Dylan Burkhart of Huntington, IN; grandparents, Joe and Jane Burkhart of Huntington, IN, Rita Vance of KY; aunt, Jenifer Burkhart of Huntington, IN; uncle, Jarod Burkhart of Huntington, IN; foster parents, Greg and Angie Posey of Muncie, IN, Phillip and Meaghan Waters of Muncie, IN; Will and Zanita Whitley of Muncie; and several extended family members. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Wendell Vance Sr., great-grandparents, Paul Godfroy, Evelyn R. Godfroy, Joe Sr. Burkhart, and Margaret “Tillie” Burkhart.
