Opal J. Millman, 87, of Andrews, passed away at 8:10 am Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at her residence.
Opal was born on April 19, 1936 in Pike County, KY, the daughter of Scott Tackitt and Flossie (Elswick) Tackitt. She graduated from Dorton High School with the class of 1953 and married Jack L. Millman on July 27, 1956 in Andrews, IN; he preceded her in death on December 29, 2014. She worked at Indiana Bell of Huntington, IN, as a Telephone Operator for 20 years. She also worked at Knoll Printing and Wal-Mart, both in Huntington, IN. Opal loved to garden, sew, and read. She enjoyed traveling to visit family. She was known to be an excellent cook.
Survivors include her Two Daughters, Linda Sue Phillips of Andrews, IN, LuAnn Tackett; Two Grandsons, Dustin Riley, David Phillips; Two Granddaughters, Danelle (John Marlnee) Phillips, Deanna (Jerrad) Brockhaus; Seven Great Grandchildren, Dustin, Skyler, Lillian, Layne, Layla, Logan, and Scarlett; and Sister, Eleanor Tackitt of Virgie, KY. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Jack L Millman, Father, Scott Tackitt, Mother, Flossie Tackitt, Three Sisters, and Three Brothers.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Dan Kochensparger officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in .
