Robert Sills

Robert J. “Bob” Sills, 64, of Noblesville, IN, formerly a long-time resident of Hartford City, Indiana, passed away at 11:29 AM on Friday, June 16, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. 

He was born on Monday, June 8, 1959, in Hartford City, to the late Burl Junior & Diana Marie (Reading) Sills. 

He married Barbara Brown on Saturday, December 16, 1978, in Hartford City.  Bob was a 1977 graduate of Blackford High School. After high school he went to work at Dependable Transit, Fisher Body in Marion, Delco Battery in Kokomo, and Muncie Battery Plant. He settled into his long-time career at GM Fort Wayne Assembly Plant in Fort Wayne, where he retired from. Bob enjoyed boating, camping, and riding his Harley. He was a huge race fan, working the dirt tracks of the Montpelier Motor Speedway, Gas City Speedway, and frequently attending races at Eldora Speedway in Darke County, Ohio. Bob was an avid fan of Tony Stewart and loved watching him behind the wheel. Above all in life, Bob enjoyed spending his time with his kids and grandsons.

Loving survivors include his wife, Barbara (Brown) Sills, Noblesville, IN, son, Travis (Alana) Sills, Noblesville, IN, daughter, Amy (Alan) Oshry, Noblesville, IN, grandsons, Hayden Sills, Ethan Sills, Graham Sills, Benson Oshry, Eli Oshry & Griffin Oshry, brother, Tim (Rachel) Sills, Dunkirk, IN and sister, Melissa (Brian) Miller, Hartford City, IN.



Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, on Thursday, June 22, 2023, an hour before the service.



A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 22, 2023, with Kevin Lex officiating.  Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
