Elaine M. Chapin, 86, of Huntington, passed away at 12:48 am Friday, June 23, 2023 at her residence.
Elaine was born on December 13, 1936 Huntington, IN, the daughter of Willis Richardson and Helene (Young) Miller. She married Larry Allen Chapin on October 11, 1953 in Huntington, IN. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2007. Elaine retired as a Multiple Winder from Square D. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, reading, and gambling. Elaine was a lifetime member of both the American Legion Post #160 in Roanoke, and the VFW Post #2689 in Huntington.
Survivors include her Son in Law, Dennis Shideler of Farmersville, OH; Daughters, Melanie Jones of Pittsburgh, PA and Johanna (Damien) Sigman of Guffey, CO; Granddaughter, Kat (Kortney) Hum of Huntington, IN; Grandson, Travis (Kasey) Shideler of Farmersville, OH; Granddaughter, Brooke Bates-Kubin of San Francisco, CA; Great Grandchildren, Holt, Lanie, Lily, Addie, and Sadie; Brother, Jerry (Karen) Richardson of Warsaw, IN. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Larry Allen Chapin, Father, Willis Richardson, Mother, Helene Miller, Sons, Rodney and Dennis Chapin, Daughter, Cynthia K. Shideler, Siblings, Willis Jr., Don, Butch, and Marge, and Grandchildren, Christopher, Rodney, Graham, and Lee.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
