Meredith "Ed" Edward Hanselman, (Coach), 99, of Andrews, passed away at 10:18 am Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence.
Meredith was born on September 17, 1923 in Andrews, IN, the son of Roy Hanselman and Ruth (Wintrode) Hanselman. He graduated from Andrews High School, then Huntington College where he earned his Bachelors Degree and he received his Masters Degree from Ball State University. Meredith married Linda Carpenter on January 6, 1994 in Palm Harbor, FL. Meredith was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving during WWII. He served in the 3rd Battalion 1st Infantry and he engaged in the Bougainville Campaign, the Admiralty Islands Campaign at Los Negros, and the Battle of Peleliu. He Coached and Taught at various Schools throughout NE Indiana with his favorite place being Lagro High School. He also was the Principal at Lakeland High School in Lagrange, IN. Meredith was a member of the American Legion Post 248 in Lagro. He was an avid Fisherman and Hunter, and he loved IU Basketball.
Survivors include his Wife, Linda Hanselman of Andrews, IN; Two Sons, Bruce (Rita) Hanselman of Vulcan, MI, Brent Hanselman of Troy, OH; Two Step Daughters, Cyndi (Steve) Crews of Huntington, IN, Stacie (Craig) Burke of Plainfield, IL; Step Son, Timothy Scheiber II of Huntington, IN; Sixteen Grandchildren, Teresa (Doyle) Randol, Tim Hanselman, Stephanie Perez, Seth Perez, Taneisha Hanselman, Desiree Caudill, Brian Hanselman, Jr., Jason (Destiny) Hanselman, Keisha Alcorn, Joshua Hanselman, Shawn Hanselman, Brent Hanseman, Jr., Tyler Hanselman, Tyler (Jessica) Campbell, Amanda Burke, Elizabeth (Brandon) Stebing, Samuel Scheiber; and Many Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Father, Roy Hanselman, Mother, Ruth Hanselman, Son, Brian Hanselman, Son, Brad Hanselman, Granddaughter, Barbara Sue Hanselman, Brother, Arden Hanselman, Sister, Ruthanne Wilkinson.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Bailey-Love Mortuary.
