Cindy Eckert

Cindy Eckert of Huntington, Indiana, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 9, 2023 in Zionsville, Indiana after a brief illness.

Cindy was born on January 12, 1956, in Lawrenceville, Indiana, to parents Charles and Delores Henry.  

As a young woman Cindy loved activities such as golf, bowling and softball.  In later years her passion for animals, particularly dogs, lead her or be active in the animal rescue community.  She loved her own two dogs Beau and Sadie so much.

Cindy married Ed Hippensteel and together they had two children, Jodi (Adrian) Miller of Zionsville, IN and Eddie Hippensteel of Huntington, IN.  Cindy loved her family and delighted in being a very proud grandmother to Eva Miller, Emilee Miller and Isaac Miller.  She was know to always have bags of Skittles in her purse for her grandkids.  Some of her most cherished times were cookouts and holiday meals with her kids and grandkids.

Cindy had a very strong work ethic and worked for many years for Walgreens, rising to the position of store manager. Most recently she retired from Shuttleworth, Inc. in Huntington, IN.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Delores, a brother, Steve Henry, a sister Tami Allen, and an infant granddaughter Jenna Miller who she is surely holding tightly to in Heaven.

She is survived by a sister Susan Zerrusen of Effingham, Illinois and a brother Jeff Henry of Indianapolis, Indiana.  She is also survived by ex husband turned dear friend, Ed Hippensteel.

Friends of Cindy and the family may call at 10 am on Friday, July 14th at the Gardens of Memory located at 11201 S. Marion Rd-35 in Marion, Indiana.  

A private family service and burial will follow at 11 am.
