Roger Wayne Banter, 62 of Van Buren, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his home in Van Buren, Indiana.
Roger was born on June 20, 1961, to Joseph W. Banter and Mary Elizabeth Bowman in Marion, Indiana. He married Donita J. (Hale) Banter on November 18, 1994. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2019. Roger attended Eastbrook High School and worked for Peyton’s in Bluffton, IN, did construction, and also Taylor Well Drilling for a few years. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, trapping, and gardening. Roger was very proud of his family, especially his granddaughters who he would talk about to everyone.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and siblings, Priscilla Banter and Bobby Davis.
Loving survivors include his children, Jacob Banter, Jessica (Josh Bullard) Banter, Leonard King, and Mack King, grandchildren, Alexis, Scarlett and Aaron, and siblings, Chuck (Leslie) Banter, Diana (Pete) Korporal, Rick (Robin) Banter, Tammy (Arnie) Reneer, Julia (Gary) Martin, Tim (Debbie) Davis, Debbie (Phil) Davis, Cathy (Randy Stower) Rowell, Paula Earl, and Betty Grice.
In honor of Roger’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
