
Janice L. (Houston) Driver Coppock, 91, of Roanoke, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, IN. Her four children and spouses surrounded her with their presence, flowers, nature sounds, and love on that beautiful sunrise morning.
Janice was born on April 10, 1932, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Zymena (Taylor) Houston. She married Joe Driver, and they had four children. She later married James G. Coppock on March 19, 1983, and he preceded her in death March 26, 2020.
Janice was a 1950 high school graduate of the Elida Bulldogs. She has three living siblings that enjoy each other’s conversations. Janice was most proud of being a parent. Next is her accomplishments with sewing and tailoring. This was her career choice as she worked at Depos Tailoring for many years. Anthis Career Center hired her to teach sewing and tailoring. Janice made many quilts then went on to stained glass art as a hobby. She taught her four children how to sew, tailor, quilt, and stained-glass art, as well as many other skills.
Janice is survived by three daughters, Dorian (Rick) Maples, Valerie (Jon) Brelje, both of Fort Wayne, IN, Louisea (Mike) Baker, Roanoke, IN; one son, Toby (Kathy) Driver, Honolulu, Hawaii; one brother, William Houston, Savanah, GA; two sisters, Marilyn O’Neil, Columbus, OH, Carol Welch, FL; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one stepdaughter Linda (Ned) Brause, Holland, MI; and three step-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Rhonda Cearbaugh.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at McElhaney Funeral Home – Roanoke Chapel, 240 Crestwood Drive Roanoke, IN 46783
A private burial will be held at a later date.
