Thalta “Eileen” Martz

Thalta “Eileen” Martz, 98 of Marion, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 5:24am at her home in Marion. 
Eileen was born on June 2, 1925 in Grant County, Indiana, to Claude and Vernie (Heady) Linton. Eileen was a 1943 graduate of Van Buren High School. She married Max Martz on September 18, 1943 in Bryan Texas. She worked for Delta as well as a homemaker. Eileen’s hobby was her family. She was very proud and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. 
The family would like to note a special thank you to the caring staff at Stillwater Hospice, who took such great care of them. Especially wanting to thank Kristy, Donna, Nancy, Vonnisha, Gabrielle and Chaplain Ryan. 
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Vernie Linton, son, Michael Martz Sr., grandson, Michael Martz Jr., great-great grandson, Wyatte, brothers, Lawrence “Bud”, Leon, Duane “Jim” and Jessie Linton, and sisters, Benaldine Beekman, Mary Hullinger, Jane Cook and Lorraine Linton. 
Loving survivors include her husband, Max Martz of Marion, Indiana, children, Faye Martz of West Point, UT, and Roger Martz of Marion, IN, grandchildren, Scott (Shirley) Martz, Andrew (Melinda) Dumpert, Eric (Jenny) Dumpert, and Suzanne Dumpert, bonus granddaughter, Kimberly Durflinger, great grandchildren, Jessica Dumpert, Chelsea Little, Jordan Dumpert, Natasha Dumpert, and Sarah Martz, great-great grandchildren, Jude Dumpert and Eleanor and Waylon Little, and sister-in-law, Waneta Linton. 
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Marion First Church of the Nazarene located at 700 W Kem Rd, Marion, IN 46952, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 2pm to 3pm. A funeral service will begin at 3pm with Pastor Cory Clark officiating. Burial will take place at Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren, Indiana.
