Joseph “Joe” J. Della Vecchia Jr., 60 of Huntington, passed away on Thursday morning August 24, 2023, at the Markle Health and Rehabilitation. Joe was an over the road trucker driver for 35 years. During that time, he drove for several bands, including Rob Zombie, Jewel, Blink 182 and Ozzfest. Joe grew up in Folcroft, PA., and later he served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Ranger. Joe loved to cook, tinker with cars, and collect and watch movies.
Joe was born on July 26, 1963, in Springfield, PA, a son of Joseph and Arlene (McCauley) Della Vecchia.
He was united in marriage to Mary Schwartz on October 26, 2019, in Huntington. Mary survives.
Additional survivors include a son: Joseph J. Della Vecchia III; a brother: James (Jennifer) McCann of Ridley Park, PA; three sisters: Trish (Jay) Cameron of Gloucester City, New Jersey, Charlene (Tim) Newby of Chadds Ford, PA and Amy McCann of Broomall, PA. Stepchildren: J.P. Waters, Crystal Waters, Payton Kipp, Steven Hamblen and Samara Boen; eight step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph J. Della Vecchia Sr. and Arlene (Charles) McCann; and a daughter: Danielle M. Della Vecchia.
