Rex D. Gordon ,81, of Huntington passed away on Wednesday September 6, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Rex was a 1959 graduate of Huntington High. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. Rex was a lifetime member of the VFW post 2689. He worked as a machinist at Wayne Metal for over 20 years. One of Rex’s greatest joys in life was his 1970 Mustang Boss 302. He loved working and tinkering with projects, doing word searches, and westerns (Especially John Wayne.) Per Rex’s wishes please dress casual.
Rex was born on September 19, 1941 in Huntington the son of the late Ralph and Berneice (Yeater) Gordon.
He was united in marriage to Janet Zahm on September 3, 1976 in Huntington. His wife survives
Additional survivors include a daughter: Samantha Gordon of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Milford Lee Gordon.
Visitation will take place on Monday September 11, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services will take place on Monday September 11, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery
