Sharon M. Hudson Rowles Perry, 83, of Portland, IN, passed away at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Albany Health Care in Albany, IN. She was born on Friday, August 30, 1940, in Blackford Co, IN. She married Michael D. Perry on Friday, February 19, 1994 in Muncie, IN; he preceded her in death on July 6, 2006. Sharon was a 1958 graduate of Montpelier High School. She graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1986. Sharon taught at Pennville, Redkey, and Portland schools where she was a kindergarten teacher. Sharon had lived in Pennville & Hartford City before moving to Portland. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, loved spending time with her family, and attending her grandkids sporting events and programs.
She will be sadly missed by her sons - Brian (Penny) Rowles, Midland, MI, Brent (Micheal) Rowles, Trafalgar, IN, Chad (Rebecca) Rowles, Portland, IN, brother – Rick (Linda) Hudson, Montpelier, IN, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild to be born soon.
She was preceded in death by her husband - Michael D. Perry, father - Howard Hudson, mother - Faye (Bennett) Hudson, brother - Clyde Hudson, and sister-in-law (who was like a sister) - Joyce Hudson.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN. on September 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Sharon’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023 with Pastor Aaron Huey officiating. Interment will follow in the Pennville I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pennville.
