Lori L. Settlemyre, 57, of Huntington, passed away at 5:38 pm Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.
Lori was born on November 15, 1965, in Marion, IN, the daughter of John Althouse and Linda (Warnock) Althouse. She graduated from Maconaquah High School with the class of 1983. Lori married the love of her life Tim Settlemyre II on April 13, 2007, in Huntington, IN. They shared 13 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 1, 2020. Lori previously worked at Candy’s Bar and Grill as a bartender for 15 years and was employed for the last 2 years at Save on Liquor of Huntington, IN. She was a member of the American Legion Post #85. Lori’s green thumb allowed her to grow beautiful flowers and vegetables in her gardens. She was an avid reader and had her own library of Steven King novels. Lori was a faithful Indianapolis Colts football fan and a wonderful cook. She was a proud grandmother and a devoted mother to her two boys that meant the world to her.
Survivors include her father, John Althouse of Peru, IN; two sons, Kenneth R. (Billie) Childress Jr. of Peru, IN, Kyle R. (Kristen) Childress of Peru, IN; granddaughter, Kyleigh Childress of Peru, IN; two brothers, Brian (Renee) Althouse of Peru, IN, Steve (Shelly) Althouse of Converse, IN; two sisters, Kerri (Daryll) Sweat of Fairmount, IN, Lisa Althouse of Fowlerton, IN. She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda Althouse, and husband, Tim Settlemyre, II.
