Janet E. Simmons, 84, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 8:25 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. She was born on Thursday, July 13, 1939, in Blackford County, IN. She married Tommy M. Simmons Sr. on Saturday, November 19, 1960 in Blackford County, IN. Janet was a 1957 graduate of Montpelier High School. She was a homemaker and attended the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Janet enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and above all spending time with her family, who always came first.
Janet will be sadly missed by her Daughters - Tamara (David) Leas, Montpelier, IN, Teresa Lynn (Warren Casterline) Simmons, Montpelier, IN, Son - Tommy M. (Lisa) Simmons, Jr., Montpelier, IN, Bonus Daughter- Cristi Banter, Montpelier, IN, Grandchildren - Tommy M. Simmons III, Jerod (Kaitlyn) Reynolds, Mick (Katy) Leas, Angie (Kreig) Oswalt, Heather (Shane) Kinsey, Luke (Kim) Leas, and 12 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband- Tommy M. Simmons Sr, Father - Adelma Wane Fear, Mother - Romain Arvilla (Gray) Fear, Sisters - Joyce Smith, Jneane Besser, Linda Gregory, and Great Grandson- Jenson A. Reynolds.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
A service to celebrate her life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 14. 2023 with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
