Brian Alexander “Runt” Mahorney, 44, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 9:59 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on Wednesday, April 25, 1979, in Hartford City, IN. He married Christina (Townsend) Mahorney on Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Blackford Co. Brian was a 1998 graduate of Blackford High School. He attended Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene, Montpelier, IN. Brian had worked for FCC and MSSL both in Portland, IN. Brian was a Volunteer Fireman for Montpelier, Pennville, and Dunkirk. He had served on the Jamboree Committee. He enjoyed golfing, watching Nascar and football, Colts and Vikings being two of his favorite teams. Above all Brian loved spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride & joy.

(Larry) Scott, Montpelier, IN, Angela L. Mahorney, Montpelier, IN, Aunt - Nancy Renner, Montpelier, IN, Uncles - Jerry Downhour, Montpelier, IN, Max Moore, TX, Mother-in-law - Susan St. Clair, Hartford City, IN, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Father - G. Alex Mahorney, Jr., Mother - Janet S. (Downhour) Mahorney, Maternal Grandparents - Keith & J. Lorene Downhour, Paternal Grandparents - Helen & George A. Mahorney, Sr., Father-In-Law - Dale Russell Townsend, Sr., and many Aunts & Uncles.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Cornerstone Community Church on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a service starting at 6:00 PM. Rev. Clint Abney will be officiating.
