Vicki J. Hott, 61, of Markle, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 3:50 pm Friday, September 8, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Vicki was born on March 13, 1962, in Huntington, IN, the daughter of Thomas Stoffel and Margaret "Peg" (Rudig) Stoffel. She graduated from Huntington North High School with the class of 1980 and continued her education at the Lutheran School of Nursing where she received a degree in nursing. Vicki later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan. She married the love of her life Troy Hott on July 17, 1982, in Huntington, IN. Vicki was a devoted servant and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Huntington. She was a registered nurse for over 37 years at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Vicki loved being a nurse, she worked on the med surg floor for most of her career before taking a management position.
Vicki was compassionate, loving, strong, brave, and an amazing wife and mother. She was a proud grandmother, a loyal sister, wonderful aunt, and an amazing daughter. Above all she was one of a kind, never complained and always took care of others first. Vicki was a fighter, she fought hard for her health, her family, and her faith. She truly had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by those she loved.
Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, Troy Hott of Markle, IN; daughter, Jessica (Jacob) Hurlburt of Huntington, IN; son, Austin (Macy Good) Hott of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandson, Jason Hurlburt of Huntington, IN; mother, Margaret "Peg" Stoffel of Huntington, IN; four brothers, Steve (Dianna) Stoffel of Huston, TX, Donald Stoffel of Roanoke, In, Todd (Jennifer) Stoffel of Huntington, IN, Christopher Stoffel of Indianapolis, IN; five Sisters, Kathy McNamee of Cincinnati, OH, Cindy Scheiber of Huntington, IN, Connie (Bennie) Sams of Huntington, IN, Beth (Neil) Wheeler of Indianapolis, IN, Jamie (Tim) Bruce of Ft. Wayne, IN. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. Stoffel, and brother, Jeffrey Stoffel.
Funeral Mass Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 12:30 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 North Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN with Fr. Thomas Zehr officiating. The Nursing Honor Guard will be in attendance for the service. Burial at a later date will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
