Thomas D. Mounsey, 85, of Montpelier, IN, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 surrounded by his family at his home in Montpelier, IN. He was born on Sunday, April 17,1938 in Montpelier, IN. He married Marie M. Gillette on Wednesday, May 25, 1958 at the Montpelier Church of the Nazarene. Tom was a 1956 graduate of Montpelier High School where he had been active in track, specifically shot put. He had owned and operated Tom's Auto Sales for 7 years, worked as a salesman for C.D. Neff & Sons, and retired after 33 years of service from Fisher Body. He was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene and served as a board member. Tom was a member of the Fisher Body Sympathy Club, U.A.W., Jaycees, and had been on the Montpelier City Council for 20 years. He enjoyed singing at weddings.
Tom will be sadly missed by his Wife - Marie M. (Gillette) Mounsey, Montpelier, IN, Daughter - Linda (Monty) McCoin, Hartford City, IN, Son - Greg (Tami) Mounsey, Centerville, IN, Grandchildren - Brittany (Tyler) Powell, New Castle, IN, Braxton (Jessica) McCoin, Muncie, IN, Morgan Marie (Patrick) Smith, Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Derek Duane (Layne) Mounsey, Indianapolis, IN, 7 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Step Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Father - Clayton Thomas Mounsey, Mother - Edith (White) Mounsey, and Sister - Janet D. Denton.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Tom’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2023 with Pastor Laura High and Pastor Jesse Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
