Marcella E. Westfall

Marcella E. Westfall, 94 of Huntington, Indiana, formerly of Van Buren, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at her home in Huntington. 
Marcella was born on April 5, 1929, in Clear Creek Township to John and Frieda (Schenkel) Stephan. She graduated from Dallas Township High School in 1947. She married Dale L. Westfall on March 14, 1953, in Andrews, Indiana. Dale preceded her in death in July, 2011. Marcella worked for Caswell Runion as a Telephone Operator for her first job.  She then worked for the Purdue Extension office for 6 years, then Huntington County Sheriff for 18 months before her marriage to Dale. Other jobs she held were Lindley Box in 1953 as a typist, where she used her first “electric” typewriter, General Tire, where she was a telephone operator, and Hoosier Grain during the harvest season. She also was a Guardian for Job’s Daughters, Bethel #19 in Marion, always worked on the Grant County election board, and helped to organize and play on a girls’ softball “semi-pro” team. Marcella was a homemaker and then worked while Dale was in the service. She worked as a CNA at Bradner Village to put the girls through college, then at Colonial Oaks as a CNA and then in the office. She would continue to work in the therapy office of the Center on Sports Medicine until her retirement. Marcella was a hardworking and determined woman. She was an IU Hoosier fan and a fan of Bob Knight. She enjoyed her fishing trips to Minnesota with Dale, making delicious pies and food for her family, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marcella is a current member and had a lifetime connection to St. Paul’s County Line Church of Andrews. 
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Eldon Stephan, James Stephan, and Rosemary Storer. 
Loving survivors include her children, Linda (Mark) Iseler of Huntington, IN, Lisa (Jim) Lawrence of Nashville, IN, and Robert Westfall of Hutchinson, KS, grandchildren, Matthew Hoagland, Douglas Hoagland, Jerry (Vini) Westfall, Melissa Westfall, Lyndsey (Joey) Goff, Sara (Luke) Tusing, and Dane (Kelli) Davison, step-grandchildren, Kristen (Brian Lesney) Iseler, Holly (Rein) Mabon, Brian Lawrence, and Hannah (Scott) Caffey, 7 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren, and siblings, Carl (Darlene) Stephan and Mae Leedy. 
Friends and family may gather to share and remember at County Line Church located at 3995 N 1000 W, Andrews, IN 46702, on Friday, October 6, from 4pm to 8pm, on Saturday, October 7, from 2pm to 6pm and again on Sunday, October 8, from 12:30pm to 1pm. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 1pm, with Pastor Conrad Thompson and Pastor Aaron Westfall officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
