Tom R. Hough

Tom R. Hough, 92, of rural Geneva, Bearcreek township in Jay County, IN, passed away at 10:04 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1931, in New Corydon, IN.  He married Marilyn Caul Hough on Saturday, October 24, 1992, in Jay County, Indiana. Tom was a lifetime resident of Jay County. He attended Geneva High School. Tom served his country as a Sargent in the US Army during the Korean war. Tom worked at the Milk Plant, and at CTS in Berne for 27 years. He farmed in Jay and Adams counties and raised hogs, cattle and chickens. Tom was a member of the Geneva VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, dancing and farming. Tom attended the First United Methodist Church in Geneva.

He is survived by his wife - Marilyn J Hough, Geneva, IN, his children - Kathy (Don) McClain, Bryant, IN, Ann (Rob) Bergman, Geneva, IN, Ben (Vickie) Hough, Geneva, IN, Stan Hough, Geneva, IN, David Hough, Geneva, IN, Cindy (George) Moiser, KY, step granddaughter - Heather (Matt Grayson) Cook, Geneva, IN, brother - Lonnie Hough, Indianapolis, IN, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his Father - Burley Ray Hough, Mother - Hulda Matilda (Kessler) Hough, Stepdaughter - Amy Ghimire, Brothers - Bill Hough, Bob Hough, John Hough, Joe Hough, Mugs Hough, Jack Hough and sisters - Caroline Jones, Carolyn Wittwer, Bernice Teeple, granddaughter - Allison Curtis, great granddaughter - Stella Ann Buress

 
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
 
A service to celebrate his life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 16, 2023, Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant, IN. Military gravesite rites will be conducted by the Geneva VFW and the Berne American Legion.
