Erin Kathleen (Barrick) Baker, 49 years old, lost her battle with cancer on October 23, 2023 at home with family at her side. Erin was born July 14, 1974 to Larry and Sandra (Bryan) Barrick at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. In 1983 Erin moved to Reno with her mother and grandparents, Russell and Margaret (Sunderman) Bryan formally of Huntington, Indiana.
Erin attended the Old Brown Elementary School, Pine Middle School, Wooster High School, Truckee Meadows Community College with an AD Degree and The University of Nevada, Reno with a BA degree. Erin wanted to be a Social Worker. She has been employed the past few years at West Hills Hospital and lastly at Willow Springs Behavioral Health Center as a patient financial counselor.
Erin’s love of horses took her at age 12 from 4-H Horse Clinics/Shows to Wooster High School Rodeo Club where she competed around the state in Barrel Racing to more amateur competitions in English and Western Riding after high school.
Erin married Chris Baker in September 2005. They have two sons: Kaleb Russell and David Kleigh. Erin became a new “grandma” on September 11, 2023, to a granddaughter, Xiamara.
Erin is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents Russell and Margaret (Sunderman) Bryan, Uncle Michael J. Bryan, great grandparents Fred and Marie Sunderman, as well as many great aunts and uncles, grandmother Violet Barrick, all of Huntington, Indiana.
Erin is survived by husband Chris, sons Kaleb and David, granddaughter Xiamara (mother Haylee), father Larry J. Barrick and step mother Lucinda Barrick of San Diego, mother Sandra Barrick, mother-in-law Jeanne Baker, brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Liz Baker, niece Paige (Baker) Vega, of Palm Springs, CA.
