Carolyn Ann (Bishop) Turner

Carolyn Ann (Bishop) Turner, 80, of rural Dunkirk, IN, passed away at 12:50 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at her home in Dunkirk, IN.  She was born on Wednesday, February 10, 1943, in Muncie, IN.  She married R. Michael Turner on Wednesday, August 1, 1990 in Monticello, KY. Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She was a Dunkirk Speedcat cheerleader and Drum Majorette. She attended the Hartford City Wesleyan Church. She retired after 25 years of service from Franklin Electric known also as Bluffton Motorworks. Carolyn was a 47-year member of the Millard Brown American Legion Post 156 Auxiliary and a former member of the Dunkirk Moose Lodge # 1352. She enjoyed making dolls, being outside, and taking golf cart rides. Above all Carolyn loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. 

She will be sadly missed by her Husband - R. Michael Turner, Dunkirk, IN, Son - Shane (Heather) Robbins, Summerville, SC, Daughters - Kimberly (Chad) Speidel, Hartford City, IN, Chelle (Brad) Scholer, Poneto, IN, Sisters - Nancy Miller, Dunkirk, IN, Sandy (Richard) Buckner, Dunkirk, IN, Grandchildren - Tanner Hendricks, Tryse Hendricks, Levi Lytle, Lauriah Lytle, Bryce Robbins, Brandon Robbins, Derrick Bales, & Harley Bales, Great Grandchildren - Leighton & Lila Hendricks, Kamri Branscum, & Indiana Bales, Sister-in-laws - Dana (Chris) Gill, Noblesville, IN, Diane Prince, Montpelier, IN, and several Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father - Clyde Bishop, Mother - Dorothy Maxine (Overmyer) Bishop, and Brother - Michael Bishop.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

A service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2023 with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.

Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
